The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce's First Friday Breakfasts in September and October are not to be missed.

The First Friday Breakfasts are the Chamber's premier networking and business promotional event, and one of the most regularly attended monthly programs.
Both events take place from 7-9 a.m. at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, 2100 Costa Del Mar Road.
'Stay productive in your focus zone'
First off on Sept. 5, join the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce and Lucy Jo Palladino, author of, "Find Your Focus Zone: An Effective, New Plan to Defeat Distraction and Overload."
Palladino will offer tips on how to stay focused and eliminate distractions while at work.
Palladino will discuss how to concentrate under pressure, beat procrastination, and tune out distractions.
You will be walked through how she has used these techniques to becoming a guest expert for many producers and reporters for different publications such as NPR, CNN, Wall Street Journal, and many more.
'A more elegant and humane way to sell'
Ann Marie Houghtailing will be the featured speaker for the October First Friday Breakfast.
Her topic will be "How to network and sell like a human."
Houghtailing will discuss how to develop and refine your sales skills with a sustainable process with elegance and humanity.
In this First Friday talk, she will explain how her methods have helped her get to where she is now.
Houghtailing has partnered with a private university to launch an Institute for Sales and Business Development, founded The Millionaire Girls' Movement, became a Vistage speaker, spoke at TEDx, and authored "How I Created a Dollar Out of Thin Air."
Admission to the First Friday Breakfast is $32 for Chamber members who register before Aug. 29 for the September event.
Preregister for the October First Friday Breakfast by September 26.
Afterward, the preregistration cost is $55 and $60 at the door. Prospective members must contact the Chamber at 760-931-8400.
