As one of Southern California’s leading home builders over the past three decades, Barratt American takes extensive measures to ensure that its homes meet the highest standards of craftsmanship, durability and lifestyle ease, according to Michael D. Pattinson, president and CEO of Barratt American.
Since its establishment as the United States subsidiary of the international Barratt Developments PLC in 1980, Barratt American has built more than 18,000 homes in Southern California, and developed a widespread reputation for product excellence and buyer satisfaction.
In August 2004, Barratt American’s local top management, headed by Pattinson, concluded a buyout agreement with the parent company, establishing itself as a wholly independent firm headquartered in Carlsbad.
Today, Barratt American is offering premium homes ranging from San Diego to San Bernardino counties, and offers unsurpassed quality at reasonable prices in some of the region’s finest residential locations.
“Barratt American continuously strives to keep its name synonymous with dramatic architecture, richly detailed interiors and lifestyle-enhancing amenities (using) premium-grade materials and construction,” Pattinson said. “Meticulous selection of building products and leading-edge technology makes us confident every Barratt home, regardless of the price range, is built to last and to maintain its high value.”
In order to achieve full compliance with its building standards, Barratt hires independent third-party inspectors to check every house at key stages of construction. This ensures every craftsman and artisan meets Barratt performance levels.
“If sub par work is detected, the job is redone and reinspected,” Pattinson said.
Before a new home is turned over to its owner, it must pass a rigorous quality assurance checklist that makes certain every last detail is cared for.
“Throughout its 26 years in business, Barratt American has consistently exceeded industry standards in home craftsmanship,” Pattinson noted. “We’ve never built better homes than we are today here in Southern California.
