The Carlsbad Business Journal interviewed company CEO Richard Marrs about the insurance business and what makes his company unique. A portion of the interview ran in the journal last month. The following is the remainder of that interview.
Carlsbad Business Journal: What do you do in your time away from work?
Marrs: Spend it with my family. Surfing, golfing, fitness activities.
CBJ: What do you enjoy about your location in Carlsbad?
Marrs: It's been my home for 24 years. I have raised my family here and developed very strong ties to the community. It's great to be able to both live and do business in the town you love.
CBJ: Is there any other information you would like to share?
Marrs: Our company's focus for many years has been business insurance but I would also like it to be known that we have a very strong personal insurance division that will be all the stronger by the addition of Carla Malone. She is a North County insurance veteran whose energy and experience will enable us to grow this important department. Malone has been active in the personal lines insurance field since 1991 and joins MM&A after a long and distinguished insurance career at the Automobile Club of Southern California. She has extensive experience in the sales and service of personal lines insurance products and will be directly responsible for managing the agency's personal lines sales development.
