Carlsbad-based Invitrogen, the leading provider of essential life sciences technologies for disease research and drug discovery, opened a new bioproduction facility in Australia. The location focuses on the development of bovine sera products and reagents used in basic research and the production of vaccines and biotherapeutic drugs for world markets. The 1,000-square-meter facility is located in New South Wales and is part of an on-going expansion of Invitrogen's Australian operations. The company, which opened in 1987, conducts business in more than 70 countries.
