John Laing Homes' San Diego division recently named Josh DeGroot as its new Land Acquisition Manager. DeGroot brings specialized knowledge of mid-city San Diego to the John Laing Homes San Diego team.

As a Land Acquisition Manager, DeGroot is responsible for expanding John Laing Homes' portfolio in San Diego. His specific duties include identification of acquisition opportunities, financial analysis and negotiation of purchase agreements. DeGroot welcomes the opportunity to continually build the San Diego Division one quality John Laing Home acquisition at a time.

"Josh's established relationships and knowledge of San Diego neighborhoods make him a key player on our expanding land acquisitions team. We are excited to leverage his background in commercial real estate as we pursue infill development opportunities," said Adam Smith, Director of Land Acquisition, John Laing Homes.

DeGroot's education and experience make him an asset to the San Diego division of John Laing Homes. After graduating from San Diego State University with a degree in Communications, DeGroot worked at Voit Commercial Brokerage as a real estate broker. With Voit, DeGroot was responsible for more than $30 million in transactions. Afterward, he transitioned to D.R. Horton (dba Western Pacific Housing) as a land acquisition associate responsible for more than $60 million worth of acquisitions and dispositions.

"My expertise is from Mid-City San Diego down to the border, and I look forward to presenting acquisition opportunities for John Laing's San Diego Division to increase its San Diego presence," said DeGroot.
