So much has been made about our economy this year that I thought I would remind myself that Common Sense should always be the rule of the day. Here are my favorite top-10 points of Common Sense.

1. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

2. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

3. You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.

4. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

5. You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.

6. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.

7. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

8. You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.

9. You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man's initiative and independence.

10. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.
A few last comments as we embark on the new year.
Remember when you were at your best? Be there again.
There is no such thing as expecting too much.
It's the little stuff that torpedoes the big stuff.
When nobody around you seems to measure up, it's time to check your yardstick.
Anyone can blame; it takes a specialist to praise.
No coach ever won a game by what he knows; it's what his players have learned.
Listen closely and your customers will explain your business to you.
Last but not least ask yourself the most important question of the year: “Would you do business with you?
Happy New Year!
