The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce is hosting a fire hydrant painting contest. The project was developed to bring attention to the downtown Carlsbad Village by creating a walking tour that allows people the opportunity to view art and peruse the many stores and restaurants in the area. People will have the opportunity to "adopt" a fire hydrant in the Village and then paint it themselves or enlist the aid of a local artist.
