The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce is pleased to introduce another new member of the Chamber team. Kristina Webb was brought onboard in December to fill the vital position of Information Specialist. Kristina has had three years of experience in customer service and enjoys working with the public.
As the Chamber's Information Specialist, Kristina is responsible for answering incoming calls, handling all Chamber member referrals, assisting Chamber staff with various administrative duties, and maintaining a well-organized and friendly reception area!
Kristina was born in Sacramento, Calif. She is the third in a line of four girls. Her family moved to Elk Grove when she was two where she attended elementary, middle and high school. After graduating high school in 1998, Kristina took a full time job at a mortgage company where she worked for two years. She then moved on to a flooring company where she did Accounts Receivable for another two years. Then, having a desire to go back to school, she started working part-time and attended a local community college. In 2003, while working at an Aveda salon, she was offered a job at another Aveda salon in Orem, Utah. Kristina packed up and moved to Provo to set out on a new adventure.
And what an adventure it has been! It was in Utah she met her husband Ryan Webb. He had already enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was planning on going to boot camp at MCRD in May 2004. The couple married in August of 2004 while Ryan was on his 10 day leave after boot camp, and then relocated to Camp Pendleton. Kristina is now expecting the couple's first child, a boy, to be born in August 2005, while Ryan is fighting in Iraq.
Kristina plans on having another two or three children and supporting her husband in accomplishing his goals, which include opening up his own paintball park. One day she hopes to open up her own dance studio or become an elementary school teacher.
Kristina enjoys working at the Chamber because of its involvement in the community and looks forward to upcoming events such as the May 1 Carlsbad Village Street Faire.
