Montessori Arts and Sciences School recently opened its doors to children aged six to twelve years and celebrated the opening with a ribbon cutting.
The school offers an integrated, hands-on approach for children to explore the wonders and beauty of mathematics, biology, astronomy, geometry and earth science. Each child is encouraged to creatively express his or her ideas and feelings with the community.
The school operates in the former home of Mayor David Dunne and is located on Carlsbad Village Drive and Highland to provide an interactive synergy with libraries, a Civic Center, other services and businesses nearby. Director Jan Taylor cut the ceremonial ribbon along with her father, Monty Geissinger, retired engineer of Carlsbad Research Center.
They are joined by students who were dressed in costumes for the original play of Janell Cannon’s “Pinduli”. The school is located at 3016 Highland Dr. in Carlsbad. For more information call (760) 434-6440 or log on to montessoriartsandsciences.com.
