Mission of the organization
NCHS is a nonprofit organization that provides support and compassionate care for the well being of animals and people. We envision a world where all animals receive humane treatment and people are stewards giving respect and compassion to all living creatures. We provide care annually for more than 7,000 animals and pets. We are not a chapter of, or funded by, any national, state, or local humane organization. Our shelter is an independent facility, directed and governed by a board of directors.
