Carlsbad's many recreational options is one reason thousands of visitors make Carlsbad their travel destination – but why should tourists have all the fun? Here are a few options for recreation locals can enjoy.

Building the soundtrack of our lives
When you step into the Museum of Making Music, you'll see outstanding examples of musical instruments, hear some familiar tunes and have many opportunities to play a variety of instruments. And, you'll discover how an innovative industry, the music products industry, provides us with the instruments and gear that help shape the soundtrack of our lives. It's a story that will ignite?or maybe reignite?your own connection to music and music making.
The Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults; $5 for students and seniors; and FREE for children age 5 and under. Active duty military and up to five family members can enjoy free admission through the Blue Star Museums program through Labor Day (September 7, 2015). For more information, please call 760-438-5996 or visit www.museumofmakingmusic.org. (The Museum of Making Music is the museum of NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants, the Carlsbad-based not-for-profit trade association that serves the global music products industry.)
