North County's largest business showcase comes to Carlsbad
For 15 years, the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce has sponsored the Business Expo and each year the event attracts more business owners seeking to educate professionals about their company as well as career-minded locals with a keen eye for up-and-coming businesses. This year's Expo takes place September 21 from 1 to 7 p.m. at Westfield Plaza Camino Real. An estimated 2,000 people will visit the Expo, which will include more than 200 booths highlighting local businesses and non-profit organizations. Both Chamber members and prospective Chamber members will exhibit.
The Expo kicks off with speaker Sam Borgese, CEO of Catalina Restaurant Group, owners of the Coco's and Carrow's restaurant chains. This year's event will also feature large tents to keep visitors cool and out of the sun, and allow for more creative booth designs. The Expo previously took place at the Carlsbad Company Stores but its continued growth meant moving the location to Plaza Camino Real last year.
The Expo is presented by Grand Pacific Resorts. Other sponsors include the San Diego Union Tribune, CDS Printing, North County Times and Classic Party Rentals. Admission is $5 and parking is free. Westfield Plaza Camino Real is located at 2525 El Camino Real in Carlsbad. The Business Expo will be held in conjunction with the September Sundowner.
