Carlsbad will become a haunting place as Oktoberfests abound this month. Legoland will be putting on its seventh annual Brick-or-Treat celebration on October 22, 23, 29, 30 and 31 while the Rotary Club presents its 23rd annual Carlsbad Rotary Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 1 at Holiday Park in Carlsbad.
The Rotary Club's family event features German food, German music, dancing and a host of children's activities, including a pumpkin decorating contest, facing painting, clowns and much more. Roger and the Villagers will play their traditional brand of polka music, including the beloved "Chicken Dance, from 5 to 10 p.m. and

Legoland's festivities include daily costume contests, safe trick-or-treating on a kid-sized Brick-or-Treat trail and entertainment from the park's Boo Crew. Other entertainment includes a stilt walking artist, a juggler on a unicycle and a best howler contest.
