The Palomar Airport Study Team, or PAST, studies the means of improving McClellan-Palomar Airport to provide safe, environmentally healthy and sound economic programs while progressively enhancing the quality of life for the surrounding communities.
Led by Tim Hutter of Pacific Coast Aviation Insurance Services, PAST meets from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month in the conference room at Premier Jet, which is located at McClellan-Palomar Airport at 2100 Palomar Airport Road. However, this Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce committee will not meet this month, but will again commence its regular meetings in October.
The group is comprised of business members from both the airport and local community. The county of San Diego airports also plays an important role in PAST.
PAST recently sent out a survey on what enhancements chamber members would like to see to the services offered at Palomar Airport. Almost 400 members responded to the survey, which PAST will use to encourage current and new airlines to offer new routes to and from Carlsbad.
If you are interested in learning more about PAST or would like to attend one of its meetings, contact Michael Babowal, the chamber's director of government affairs, at (760) 931-8400 or [email protected].
