San Diego Magazine held its fourth annual Women Who Move the City event at the Joan B. Kroc Institute of Peace and Justice on the stunning USD campus on Sept. 16. More than 500 women and men joined to celebrate more than 50 remarkable and influential Women Who Move the City nominees.
The prestigious 2009 Woman of the Year award went to Amanda Clardy of Life Technologies Corp.
Recently appointed chief marketing officer at Life Technologies, Clardy is responsible for marketing a portfolio of 50,000 products used by more than 75,000 customers throughout the world. She is also the founder and president of iWIN, the Life Technologies Women's Influential Network, which is designed to support, mentor and inspire Life Technologies employees through personal and professional development opportunities.
In addition, the award winner serves on the board of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce and the Carlsbad Educational Foundation, as well as volunteering with the Boys & Girls Club.
