Change is the only constant — especially in a bear market. Businesses must evolve (or perish) as the tastes, needs and circumstances of their clients change.
Tom Bwarie, a stalwart of North County's business community for the past 30 years, is adapting to his market and clients by moving from his longtime bricks-and-mortar shop in the village to a more digital and mobile approach.
Through his new Web site, Bwarie will still offer the same high-quality custom gift baskets that established him as the go-to guy for corporate thank-yous.
But now, Bwarie will focus on helping corporate event planners create memorable gatherings by sending attendees home with custom engraved wine glasses, beer steins, wine bottles, water bottles, and other glass and plastic items.
Bwarie is targeting a variety of events including trade shows and conventions where he will engrave glasses with the corporate brand and the attendee's name. Trade show marketers who know the value of “booth buzz” will instantly see the value of the packed lines and excited comments that Bwarie's engravings inspire.
Companies hosting a company picnic, retreat or golf tournament can keep that appreciation high in their employees' minds with engraved glasses commemorating the event. In the same way, the unique engraved glasses create a family heirloom to commemorate weddings, birthdays, graduations, retirements and other special events.
Bwarie will also focus his marketing efforts on wine tastings, festivals and similar events.
“That keepsake glass will remind attendees of their favorite wine AND the day's experience,” Bwarie said. “It's a win-win for wineries.”
By re-focusing his efforts to do business in a new way, Bwarie has changed with the demands of the economy while insuring his success by honing in more closely on his target markets.
