What is the biggest trend in your industry? How are you addressing it?
The issues related to the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare") are the biggest challenges faced by Tri-City Medical Center because the payment for services is being reduced while the services we are required to perform have been increased.

To address these challenges, we started to work on ways to control the impact of the new law several years ago.

Tri-City Medical Center has embraced new innovative medical technologies and has established new delivery models. We continually promote the value of innovation in healthcare services. Tri-City Medical Center is a leader in San Diego County in robotics and minimally invasive technologies, and is both the only hospital in San Diego County and one of only four hospitals in California with the Mazor Robotics Renaissance system, an innovation in spine surgery. Furthermore, Tri-City Medical Center is also adapting to new delivery models. The hospital's Accountable Care Organization, North Coast Medical ACO, was the only one in San Diego chosen to participate in the Medicare Shared Savings ACO program in the summer of 2012.

In addition, we are continually developing new medical procedures, equipment, or working with innovative products. For example, a Tri-City orthopedic surgeon performed the first vitamin E total knee replacement in San Diego County.

Where do you see Tri-City Medical's growth?
Enhancing brand awareness and visibility among the communities so that patients and great doctors know about the excellent healthcare services delivered by Tri-City Medical Center to patients.
We will continue marketing the innovations and medical outcomes found at Tri-City Medical Center and embracing new medical technologies and delivery systems.

Located in the city of Oceanside, Tri-City Medical Center is a Gold Seal-approved, full-service, acute-care hospital with two advanced clinical institutes for cardiovascular and orthopaedic care.

Tri-City Medical Center has 397 beds and over 500 physicians practicing in 60 specialties. Opened in 1961, we have grown to meet the needs of our North County residents. We are community owned and operated. The hospital, a leader in robotics and minimally invasive technologies, has served the community for more than a half century.

Tri-City Medical Center serves San Diego County's coastal communities of Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista, as well as the surrounding region. Tri-City is administered by the Tri-City Healthcare District, a California Hospital District.

Tri-City Medical Center's facilities include a hospital at 4002 Vista Way in Oceanside, nearby outpatient services and the Tri-City Wellness Center in Carlsbad.
