Tri-City Medical Center has been recognized for receiving top marks in areas such as patient rights, medication management and infection control by The Joint Commission, the national organization that establishes standards for healthcare quality and safety.

The Joint Commission assessed the hospital unannounced for four-day on-site survey for compliance with standards addressing performance in key functional areas. The Joint Commission survey focuses on all programs including home care, behavioral health and emergency services.

"Our mission is to advance the health and wellness of those we serve. For more than 50 years, we've shown our commitment to fulfill that mission," said Casey Fatch, interim CEO of Tri-City Medical Center. "The Joint Commission's re-accreditation reflects our dedication to providing excellence in every aspect of our work."

In addition to receiving accreditation from the Joint Commission, Tri-City Medical Center has also received an "A from the Leapfrog Group for its Hospital Safety Score and was named one of "100 Great Hospitals in America" by the editors of Becker's Hospital Review.
