Two San Diego-based tourism companies have formed an unprecedented partnership that will utilize the best attributes of each to better serve hotels within Southern California.
What's Here!, the region's leader in travel and tourism support, and Advanced Reservation Systems Inc, or ARES, which specializes in electronic reservations and ticketing technology, have formed this strategic alliance. The companies have collaborated on an innovative Web site designed for hotel personnel that enables them to meet all of their guest services needs.
“Now, hotels have a one-stop shop,” said Kevin Kearns, publisher of What's Here! “We combined our tourism and industry magazines and exclusive events for hotel personnel with the electronic reservations and attraction ticketing technology of ARES in order to fully service a hotel's needs.”
Designed by an international Web design firm, www.hotelrecommends.com puts tourism news, attraction tickets, car rentals, airline information, restaurant reservations and interactive chat rooms for guest services staff all in one online package. The 400 hotels What's Here! and ARES already work with can now book tickets to area attractions through the Web site.
Local attractions view the alliance as an additional support tool for their hotel marketing.
“LEGOLAND wants its tickets sold throughout all hotels in the region, and in some cases, this poses challenges. We believe this industry Web site will become a great option for hotels desiring e-ticketing,” said Sandy Laun, LEGOLAND's hotel account representative.
The mission of What's Here! is to support the hospitality industry by connecting visitors, concierges and regional attractions to one another in the most comprehensive and effective manner. With the company's innovative tourist marketing packages, concierges stay readily informed on Southern California's finest tourist attractions and events, allowing them to craft their guests' desired vacations.
What's Here! provides products and services throughout more than 350 hotels, visitor centers and key tourist outlets with monthly, quarterly and annual visitors publications, in addition to industry and travel Web sites about Southern California.
