Last month, the Carlsbad Village began its transformation into a winter wonderland.
Several business owners throughout the area have decorated their windows for the holidays and a chance to win the decorating contests hosted by the Carlsbad Village Business Association.
Members of the association's Holiday Committee will be walking through the Village and judging windows between Dec. 3 and Dec. 6. The winners will be announced Dec. 7 through press releases, and ribbons will be placed in the winning windows. The public is welcome to judge the windows Dec. 9 through Dec. 16. Those winners will be announced Dec. 17.
In addition to the window painting, members of the Optimist Club of Carlsbad decorated the old-fashioned light poles throughout the Village. Also, the city of Carlsbad has purchased new holiday-themed banners that were placed throughout the area.
Last minute shoppers can take in the festivities and enjoy the Village Holiday Open House Dec. 22 and 23. Over the weekend, stores in the area will offer special sales incentives, holiday treats and live music.
