Led by Craig McStravick of AT&T and Bill Maynard of Netcom America, the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce's Technology Committee promotes the use of new technologies, schedules speakers and seminars and assists the chamber in staying current with the latest technology trends.
Made up of technology professionals and members who want to learn more about technology, the committee is a great mix of the chamber membership. The committee meets from 7:30 to 9 a.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the chamber, 5934 Priestly Drive, Carlsbad. Its staff liaison is Michael Babowal, the chamber's director of government affairs.
The committee frequently has speakers discussing the latest in technology for your business, such as Voice over IP, WiMax, Smartphones and etc. This year, the committee plans to have meetings on several topics that will help you use technology to enhance your businesses productivity. Some of the topics include how the mandated February 2009 switch to high definition broadcast television will affect the business community, what hybrid cars are and how they really work and Apple Operating System (Mac) versus Windows.
Whether you want to network with technology professionals or learn how voice over Internet telephone systems can benefit your business, the Technology Committee is the perfect fit for you. For more information, or to join the committee, call Michael Babowal at (760) 931-8400, ext. 108 or e-mail him at [email protected].
