Interested business people are invited to learn about all of the networking, educational and professional benefits the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce has to offer its new and prospective members at Meet the Chamber.
The breakfast will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Feb. 28 at the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce office, 5934 Priestly Drive, Carlsbad. During the networking opportunity, attendees will learn the functions of this chamber, which unlike most, is a private nonprofit organization that doesn't accept any city funding.
“The event gives people a complete overview of how the chamber works and allows them to understand and visualize ways to maximize their membership,” said Bev Jorgensen, the chamber's director of corporate relations and member services. “It's like a light bulb goes on when they hear first-hand testimonials from businesses that have benefited from their chamber membership.”
The event will allow participants to:
• Gain valuable contact information and meet chamber members.
• Get great ideas to increase business and visibility.
• Meet the chamber's board of directors, staff and committee chairs, as well as influential community members.
• Introduce and tout their business.
• Learn about the chamber's Small Business Success Center, which offers workshops and counseling.
Lori Zoval, the CFO and executive development director of Tahoe Helping Hands Inc., attended the quarterly event last November. She said the event taught her a lot about the Carlsbad Chamber, including the fact that it is the second largest chamber in the county and the 10th largest in the state.
“I thought Meet the Chamber was fantastic,” Zoval said.
Those who attend the free breakfast should bring plenty of business cards and brochures about their company. Please RSVP by Feb. 18 to Jessica Fuentes by calling her at (760) 931-8400 or e-mail her at [email protected].
