Did your primary care physician recently relocate? Are you concerned about having to go outside of your community for medical care?
Last August, Sharp Mission Park was purchased by Scripps Health and became known as Scripps Coastal Medical Group. Members who had primary care physicians under Sharp Mission Park now have their medical care directed through doctors and facilities affiliated with Scripps.
This means that members who live in the Tri-City area of Oceanside, Vista and Carlsbad now have to travel to Encinitas, La Jolla or San Diego for hospital care and some other services. In some instances, the patient's primary care physician may have relocated to the Scripps Carlsbad location, further inconveniencing patients who are accustomed to visiting their physician in Oceanside or Vista.
Greater Tri-Cities IPA has received numerous calls from patients with Scripps Coastal, expressing their concerns about having to travel to Encinitas for hospitalization or a procedure they may need. For many, driving to a new location or finding a ride from a family member is an added burden.
These patients are familiar with Tri-City Medical Center and they have the right to receive care in the community they live in.
Greater Tri-Cities IPA has been affiliated with Tri-City Medical Center since 1994 and maintains a primary care physician and specialty network in the Tri-City area. The physician owned group is recruiting new physicians to the area to preserve the medical community surrounding Tri-City Medical Center.
Patients who choose a primary care physician with Greater Tri-Cities IPA can keep their medical care in the Tri-City area. The physicians of Greater Tri-Cities IPA are advocates for their patients and make sure they receive the preventative and diagnostic care they need in order to stay active and healthy.
“As a group of independent physicians, our united goal is to provide the best medical care possible to our patients in the Tri-City area,” said Dr. Victor M. Dalforno, IPA president.
The medical group's physicians take pride in quick turnarounds for referrals so that patients receive timely, specialty care. Greater Tri-Cities accepts several health plans, including Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Cigna, HealthNet, Anthem Blue Cross Senior Secure, United Healthcare/Secure Horizons, Evercare and Sharp.
