Break the Ice by Breaking a Sweat at Young Professionals NetWorkout

BY KATHLEEN MANDIG Business Development Manager Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce

Calling all Young Professionals!  NCYP is back in March of 2018 with a unique twist on networking. We are honored to have Fortis Fitness & YOGALUX host a 45-minute mini boot camp workout followed by drinks, hors d’oeuvres and networking.  All members of North County Chambers are welcome to join us and break the ice by breaking a little sweat.

Founded by the Carlsbad, Oceanside, San Marcos and Vista chambers of commerce, the North County Young Professionals group is geared towards those ages 21-39 who are interested in professional development and networking. Building your network is a crucial, if not the most crucial, aspect of developing your professional career, and the skill takes time for most people to learn and get comfortable with. With five generations in the workforce currently, there are some differences in communication styles and preferences. Everyone deserves a place where they feel comfortable, and for those young professionals who crave an opportunity to get together and form relationships with others we will “grow up” professionally with, NCYP is here.

March’s NetWorkout is a chance to get outside your daily routine, step out of your comfort zone and into the gym, connecting with your peers in the community. Though the concept of “sweatworking” is not new, this will be the first event of its kind for the Carlsbad Chamber, and we are pumped for it!

Wednesday, March 7 | 5 – 7pm

Adam Jacobs is the owner and founder of Fortis Fitness & YOGALUX. He is a former collegiate and professional baseball player.  He was the 3-time team captain and Starting Catcher at Cornell University where he earned a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management and Minored in Communication. Adam has been a dedicated member of the Carlsbad Chamber for over two years, and was appointed to the board this year as the youngest Board of Directors member. Adam understands the importance of building your network of trusted colleagues and clients; and he and General Manager Erin Scheriff, were excited to offer their space to host the event.
