Mark your calendars for Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 when the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce presents the fall edition of the Carlsbad Village Street Faire, the twice-a-year tradition that grew from a modest sidewalk sale to the nation’s largest one-day street fair, regularly attracting tens of thousands of people.
The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6 in the Carlsbad Village. More than 900 exhibitors are lined up to offer unique gifts and household wares and products, and a plethora of food options, from seasonal favorites to ethnic specialties and refreshing treats.
The event includes arts and crafts, children’s games and rides, an international food center, a beer garden and pancake breakfast.
This year, the North County Transit District is helping people avoid traffic congestion and the inconvenience of searching for a parking spot by offering 2-for-1 fares on the COASTER. NCTD will add three more round-trip routes to their Sunday Service specifically for the event.
Also, there will be two shuttle stops with direct bus service to the faire. You can park at the Westfield Plaza Camino Real (west of the Sears) and at the Poinsettia Train Station just off the Poinsettia exit of Interstate 5.
“From our perspective, this partnership with NCTD is fabulous,” said the Chamber’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Toni Padron. “We at the Chamber are always looking to make our events sustainable, and opting for public transportation instead of driving to the event does just that, not to mention the convenience of being able to take the COASTER to the heart of the Street Faire without worrying about traffic or where to park.”
Padron also suggested that people who come to the fair leave their pets at home. After all, she noted, at least 85,000 people are expected to be at the fair, and adding animals to the mix might cause stressful experiences for visitors and pets alike.
“For the health and safety of our pets, we strongly discourage pets from coming to the Faire,” Padron said.
