Jorge Espinoza: School Administrator of the Year (Carlsbad Village Academy & Seaside Academy) Jorge Espinoza, the Principal of Seaside Academy, has been awarded the prestigious title of School Administrator of the Year. Throughout his tenure, Jorge has exemplified leadership qualities that have transformed Seaside Academy into a beacon of academic excellence and community engagement. His innovative approach to education and unwavering support for both students and faculty members have significantly contributed to the school’s dynamic structure and success. Under his guidance, both institutions have not only excelled in academic achievements but have also fostered a nurturing environment where every student feels valued and supported. Jorge Espinoza’s commitment to educational leadership goes beyond the day to day happenings. He has actively collaborated with local businesses and community organizations to enhance educational opportunities for students, ensuring they are well-prepared for future endeavors. Jo Ellen Restivo: Teacher of the Year for Elementary Schools (Buena Vista Elementary School) Jo Ellen Restivo has been recognized as the Teacher of the Year for Elementary Schools, a testament to her passion for teaching and dedication to her students’ success. As an Special Education Teacher at Buena Vista Elementary School, Jo Ellen has consistently gone above and beyond to create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. Her innovative teaching methods and personalized approach have inspired her students to excel academically and develop a lifelong love for learning. Jo Ellen’s commitment extends beyond the classroom as she actively participates in community outreach programs and extracurricular activities, enriching the educational experience for her students. Her ability to connect with her students on a personal level and tailor her teaching strategies to meet their individual needs sets her apart as a truly exceptional educator.



Andie Tanner: High School Teacher of the Year (Carlsbad High School) Andie Tanner’s dedication to education has earned him the title of High School Teacher of the Year. At Carlsbad High School, Andie’s passion for teaching and unwavering support for his students have made a profound impact. His engaging teaching style and commitment to academic excellence in the vocational career paths have inspired his students to reach their full potential and pursue their dreams. Andie Tanner’s influence extends beyond the classroom as he actively mentors students and continues to look to expand his vocational programs to help his students explore their interests and talents. His innovative approach to education and understanding that many students are looking for pathways outside of college has earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues, students, and parents alike.
