Nothing speaks more to the economic prosperity of a region than the quantity and quality of a regions’ manufacturing. We are blessed in Carlsbad with some amazing manufacturers. Carlsbad’s industrial park is a very robust region with over 15M square feet of space. That is the third largest industrial region in the county, behind only Mira Mesa and Otay Mesa. Before the pandemic, the US was experiencing a resurgence in manufacturing nationwide, which is great for our economy.

One of the services that the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce provides for local manufacturers is something called Certificates of Origin. Certificates of Origin are required by many countries around the world to which our local manufacturers ship. These certificates that the chamber provides verify the source and location of the production of goods. This service is free to our members and we love providing it.

So who are some of Carlsbad’s most active exporters? They may not be household names that you recognize, but they are making our local economy thrive with their products and exports. Let’s take a look at a few.

Henry Schein Orthodontics makes, sells and distributes next generation orthodontic solutions all over the world. GUNNAR Optiks manufactures, sells and distributes the only patented gaming and computer eyewear recommended by doctors to protect and enhance your vision. B&B Medical Technologies is the leading designer of clinically proven endotracheal tube holders, tracheostomy anti-disconnect devices, nebulizers for adult and pediatric patients, and bubble CPAP valves (don’t worry, we don’t know what that means either).
