Is it really December already? Wow, time flies when you’re busy with events on a weekly basis, and December is no different. Here’s the 4-1-1 on the last month of the year.

Holiday Sundowner – Wednesday, December 4th

1113_sundowner_webThe last Sundowner of the year comes early this month. So if you haven’t made an appearance to one lately, this upcoming Holiday Sundowner is a great time to come. The newly-built Green Dragon Tavern & Museum is hosting the fourth of December networking event from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Admission is $10 (cash only) and prospective members need to call and R.S.V.P their admission as soon as possible.

The Holiday Volunteer Recognition First Friday Breakfast concludes the first week of December. From 7 a.m. through 9 a.m., the volunteers that have committed their time in helping our Carlsbad Chamber become one of the largest business organizations in North County. Awards will be given to recognize the efforts made by various committees and their impact on the Chamber. “Volunteers are the backbone of organizations like ours. They help us effectively serve our community,” said Ted Owen, president and CEO of the Chamber. “Without our amazing volunteer base, this Chamber would not be the second largest in the county and the 10th largest in the state. They are vital to our unity in community mission.”

New Labor Laws Workshop – Tuesday, December 10th

1113_labor_lawsWith new laws for 2014, Chamber member Lou Storrow of Storrow Law, APC will lead the New Labor Laws Workshop and will discuss important changes you and your business should know. Changes such as new minimum wage laws, and time-off for vacation will be covered in detail. Come to the workshop and learn about the new laws coming in 2014.
