The La Costa Film Festival will present three special screenings of Sean Patrick Bloomfield’s inspirational film APPARITION HILL – a documentary that made it to the 2017 Oscar contender list -on Wednesday, March 15.
“Besides the annual four day La Costa Film Festival, we have been aggressively growing our number of special events and screenings throughout the year,”said La Costa Film Festival Co-Founders, Michael and Ruby Callihan. “We are constantly looking for opportunities to engage our film fans and bring them both educational and entertaining options. We think we have some really exciting selections this year.”
Bloomfield’s APPARITION HILL is a documentary looking at the yearly pilgrimage of thousands of people as they make their way to a tiny village in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the site of a recurring supernatural event with global implications. The film follows the experiences and impressions made on an atheist, an agnostic, a believer, a skeptic, an addict, a cancer victim, and a man suffering with ALS, as they all explore the questions of mortality and an afterlife that the people making that journey are in search of.
The first screening of APPARITION HILL will take place at 1:00pm at the Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium in Carlsbad, followed by two screenings at 6:30pm and 7:00pm at Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas La Costa, the event will be followed by Q&As with the director and the film’s cinematographer, Cimela Kidonakis, and cast members.
All tickets for the Matinee screening are $10, and both evening screenings are $20 which includes a reception. For tickets info: ow.ly/3vqC309ARQW.
