Dear Business & Community Members,

The collateral damage from COVID-19 has been significant to the San Diego business community.  TODAY we are writing the Governor (and copying the County Supervisors) asking him to re-evaluate the standards he shared last week for moving forward.

Zero deaths and under 25 cases per day for a 14-day period is not a reasonable standard that metro counties can meet for reopening business. It will take months, if not a year+, to meet this standard. Businesses want to open up in safe and healthy ways and are willing to follow the protocol laid out if given the opportunity to open before it is too late.

We are not asking to go “back to normal”. We are asking to let us embrace the “new normal”.

If you agree with us, we ask that you send a letter to the Governor and County Supervisors as well.  We also ask that you share this email with any business owners you think would want to send a letter of support as well.

Below is a sample email that you can edit as you deem appropriate and then hit the send button and it will be sent to all appropriate parties.

While anyone can send the letter, if you are a business owner, we also encourage you to attach your Safe Reopening Plan to show your readiness to open in a safe and healthy manner.  If you need a copy, click here for a blank copy that you can fill in.

Thank you for your support in working with us to ask the Governor to give more local control to our elected officials.

Sincerely,
