Hello Chamber members! Coming this Friday, November 15th, the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce is holding the Eco-Bus Tour for its fifth year. The four-hour tour will proivde a fresh perspective about the measures some local businesses  have implemented to achieve sustainable goals for sustainability. Spaces are VERY limited, so contact the Chamber today to take part in this unique experience. (Click here for information regarding how to register) This year, we will be touring the following locations:

• Isis Pharmaceuticals
• prAna Living, LLC
• And the new Alga Norte Community Park.  The park has not been completed but we will be able to view parts of the park and hear how the City has made it sustainable.

The Carlsbad Chamber’s Sustainability Committee created the Eco-Bus tour because today’s modern-day businesses have taken on a social duty to become economically and environmentally sustainable. We want to showcase those businesses for our members to see and we encourage those on the Eco-tour to hopefully implement sustainable environmental measures of their own when they return to their company or business. This year’s tour will be able to  focus more time describing how and why each company implemented their environmental policies. Their strategies, goals, and achievements will be showcased to inform the public that todays businesses are making a conscious effort to become more sustainable and for others to participate in this practice to help the Carlsbad community. Last year, 40 attendees toured McClellan Palomar Airport, California Pacific Airlines, Life Technologies and  the Carlsbad Aqua Farm.
