What is Happy Hour?

Happy Hour is a monthly networking event organized by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce. Members connect at a Chamber member location, while enjoying good food, raffle prizes, and fun during the evening hour. Here are a few key details:

  • Happy Hour occurs on the third Wednesday of every month from 5-7pm
  • It’s always hosted at a Chamber member location
  • You don’t need to be a restaurant to host! All members that have space are welcome

People Networking

INFORMATION AND PROMOTION

  1.  A 60-70 word company profile/article will be emailed to [email protected] at the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce office. The profile will appear in the Carlsbad Business Journal to promote the event. (circulation of 40,000+)

  2. The host will need to e-mail the company logo (in jpg or tif format) to [email protected].

  3. Host will be introduced and will have an opportunity to welcome the guests and speak at event.

  4. Host donates one raffle prize. (optional)

  5. Chamber will include event in 2-3 email blasts, prior to event list the event on www.carlsbad.org website.

HOST RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide a venue suitable for approximately 200 attendees to network.

  2. Provide heavy hors d’oeuvres for approximately 100-150 attendees.

  3. Provide two tables for registration and one table for raffle prizes and one for the bar.

  4. Provide two reserved parking spaces for chamber staff close to the event entrance or loading dock.  This is for dropping off & picking up materials for Happy Hour 2.0 before & after the event.

  5. Provide a bar at the event

  6. Several trash receptacles.

  7. Facility clean-up.

  8. Sound system.  (The chamber has a portable sound system if needed)

CHAMBER RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Staff registration tables and sell raffle tickets.

  2. Bring supplies and signage for the registration table.

  3. Collect raffle prizes.

  4. Clean up Chamber staffed areas.

NOTE: If you are not a restaurant or do not have a bar, you will need to fill out an ABC license form. The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce will process the application for you however, you need to fill it out beforehand. 

  1. The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to cancel or postpone the scheduled event.

  2. Registration fees and raffle ticket sales belong to the Carlsbad Chamber. 

  3. Proceeds from the bar belong to the venue. Beer & wine prices should be $6-$8 for members. Bar is supplied by the venue.  If the venue does not have a bar and liquor license, the chamber can provide the bar.  Proceeds will then go to the chamber.

  4. If the host cancels the CBAD Happy Hour within 60 days of the confirmed date, there will be a $200 Cancellation Fee.
