The City of Carlsbad, Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, and Carlsbad Village Association work in partnership to share periodic “Joint Communications” with information pertinent to Carlsbad businesses. Below you will find several resources that are available to help with businesses relief, recovery, and resiliency.
Biennial Business Survey
On September 21, the City of Carlsbad went live with its biennial business survey. This survey provides valuable information on the city’s economic makeup, industry clusters, business sentiment, and economic forecast. The city uses this data to strategize future programs and services that support economic growth and helps the city prioritize economic development resources.
Businesses may receive outreach in the form of a call or email from BW Research, a market and economic research firm used by the city to conduct comprehensive surveying and analysis for this process. However, businesses can also proactively provide their responses via the link below. The survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Reponses are confidential unless otherwise indicated.
Carlsbad Cybersecurity-Awareness Program – Cohort 2 Enrollment
The City of Carlsbad is accepting applications for the second cohort of the Cybersecurity Awareness program, which will launch at the end of October. For this cohort, larger Carlsbad businesses can also share the program with their suppliers, even if they aren’t located in the city.
Business resiliency is imperative. In the past few years, many companies pivoted more of their operations online, from remote work and telecommuting to eCommerce and online marketing. Businesses – especially small businesses – are in vulnerable positions and cannot afford another major impact on their operations. Even businesses that only house employee data can be a target.
The City of Carlsbad is proud to continue its partnership with the Cyber Center of Excellence (CCOE) to assist Carlsbad small businesses in becoming more cybersecurity-aware. At no cost to them, eligible Carlsbad businesses will receive
  • A risk assessment that includes areas of vulnerability – provided by Mastercard’s RiskRecon
  • Basic cybersecurity-awareness training for up to 100 employees from ESET North America
  • A threat landscape analysis from the San Diego FBI Cyber Task Force
