Our Carlsbad community is shaped by the people, businesses, and leaders who have invested their time, ideas, and passion into making it one of the best places to live, work, and play. While Carlsbad’s story is one of innovation and collaboration, it is also a shared commitment to keep it growing.
I invite you to be part of the next chapter at the Carlsbad Regional Community Summit, formerly known as the State of the Community. This signature event brings together more than 300 business, civic, and community leaders for meaningful conversations about where we’ve been, where we are today, and where we’re headed next.

As we look toward the future, it’s important to understand the foundation that brought us here. Carlsbad has grown from a small coastal community into a nationally recognized destination for businesses. That success did not happen by chance. It was built through partnerships, thoughtful leadership, and a community willing to come together to solve challenges and embrace opportunities.
The 2026 Carlsbad Regional Community Summit will explore Carlsbad’s past, present, and future through an engaging panel discussion moderated by Justin Jachura, Owner of Señor Grubby’s, Grubby’s Poke & Fish Market, and Los Tacos. We will have a powerhouse panel, featuring community leaders: Tim Wrisley, Owner/Publisher Carlsbad Magazine and Carlsbad Village Books, Craig Martin, GM at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa, Steve Fambro, Co-CEO Aptera Motors, Raj Pillai, Professor of Management CSUSM, and Kevin Shin, City Council Member, City of Carlsbad.
Gain first hand perspectives on the forces shaping our region. Attendees will also hear from Mayor Keith Blackburn during a keynote address highlighting the opportunities and priorities ahead for Carlsbad.
This year’s event will take place on a new day and time, making it easier than ever to start your Thursday morning connected and informed. Join us for breakfast, conversation, and collaboration at the beautiful Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa on Thursday, September 10, 8-10AM.
The future of Carlsbad belongs to all of us. Whether you are a longtime community leader, a business owner, a new resident, or someone passionate about the direction of our city, your voice and involvement matter. Together, we can continue building a future that honors our past, strengthens our present, and inspires generations to come.
I hope to see you there. Grab your tickets and tables today at carlsbad.org/carlsbad-summit
