Nothing says summer like the San Diego County Fair! You can expect a mad tea party when the fair debuts Friday, June 3rd at 4:00 p.m. This year’s theme is “Mad About the Fair,” a cross of all things “Alice in Wonderland” with influences from steampunk, cosplay, magic and more! Deep-fried lemonade, deep-fried nachos and deep-fried pizza are just some of the new crispy treats at the fair this year. But the fun doesn’t stop with the food. Other major events include beer festivals, contests, rides and games, and of course concerts with big acts like Switchfoot, Lady Antebellum, and Rachel Platten. More than 1.5 million people attended the fair last year. The fair runs through Monday, July 4th. It will be closed on Mondays and the first two Tuesdays.
