The new 10,770 square foot facility replaces the previous outdated Administration Building. It allows for the consolidation of essential student services into a single location, including Admission & Records, Financial Aid, and Counseling.

The design involves several exterior covered spaces with seating and areas for students and staff to gather, study, and socialize. The building is organized along a central circulation ‘spine’ that will provide commanding views out to the lagoon and serve as an iconic ‘lighthouse’ for the campus from Manchester Avenue. An art walk is in the building arcade and will feature student murals on interchangeable panels.

The building’s façade includes design elements that complement the look of the nearby bluffs. The project features a native species garden with low water-use plants and shrubs.

Construction of the $13.7 million facility was funded through MiraCosta College’s capital improvement program using funds from Measure MM.
