The most recent Sundowner was held at The Landings at Carlsbad. Members of the Carlsbad Chamber were encouraged to wear their best hats to coincide with the opening day of races at the Del Mar Fair grounds.
The Landings at Carlsbad was a great place to network with members being able to watch the airplanes land and take-off throughout the evening.
We had some awards given out to a few chamber members to recognize their hats.
Best Hat –Nana Hinsley from Global Plastic Sheeting
Most Creative Hat-Paula Anderson from First Citizens Bank
Best Overrall Opening Day Outfit to Evi Androulaki from European Wax Center – Bressi Ranch
and Jim Craig from Universal Building Maintenance for
being the only man to wear a hat!

Of course, we also had a raffle drawing to win some awesome prizes that other members donated.

Here is a tip for better networking at our social events that you can use yourself or to share with others:
When you meet someone at an event, use it as an opportunity to get to know them. Find out what you may have in common with them. Don’t try to sell them anything. Begin to establish a relationship by listening. Please don’t be a card-pusher, or send mass e-mails based on the business cards that you have received. Remember to put that “me-first” mindset away.
