May and June are always busy. Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduations, and the first day of summer all fall in these two months. And June still tops the list as the most popular month for weddings. What this means for many of us is that these two months might also be packed with visits from out-of-town friends and family.

The Village of Carlsbad has “friends and family” written all over it with Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce businesses ready to fill your days. Consider a day in the Village for a variety of activities from a day of pampering to bike rides along the coast to a night at the theater.

A perfect haircut and color or a trendy blowout is easy at Jayden Presleigh Salon & Spa (2946 State Street).  The graduate in your life can look their best with a visit to this award-winning salon. Have a bride or bridal party in need of a trial run? Look no further than Jayden Presleigh and their wedding packages designed for in-salon services or for the bride on-the-go.

Need to relax just a bit?  Enjoy the blissful quiet of the sanctuary at Skinsational Skin and Body Spa (300 Carlsbad Village Drive, Ste. 124), a full-service day spa in the heart of the Village. Or, consider their infrared sauna prior to one of their many body treatments. With massage and body treatment packages designed just for men, Skinsational can easily accommodate the entire family.

The Carlsbad Mineral Water Spa (2802 Carlsbad Blvd.) is rich in history dating all the way back to 1882. Today you can book everything from a simple massage to a three-hour spa package in a private, themed room. Come soak away the stresses of today and experience the energizing effects of the spa’s locally-sourced, carbonated alkaline mineral water.

Looking for something the whole family can do together? Look no further than Pedego Carlsbad Electric Bikes (355 Carlsbad Village Drive). Conveniently located in the heart of the Village and just a block from the beach, Pedego Carlsbad offers electric and pedal bicycle rentals, tours and more. Fun for the whole family, you can rent a comfort cruiser or a tandem bike, toss a picnic lunch in the basket and cruise up and down the coast, expending as much or as little energy as you wish. A variety of tours are also available to take the guesswork out of your electric cruise, with audio headsets guiding your biking adventure.

For more family fun, don’t forget to visit the certified organic State Street Farmers’ Market that takes place every Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. State Street turns into an open-air market and now offers 20 produce stands, 25 package specialty food vendors, six prepared food booths and a half dozen crafters. Come sample locally-grown produce and locally-made products from businesses right here in Carlsbad, while listening to live music.

Need a night out on the town? The 99-seat New Village Arts Theatre (2787 State Street) is perfect for an evening of family entertainment. Tony Award-winning Big River plays through May 15th and the longest running one-woman show in Broadway history, Golda’s Balcony, runs through June 26th.

When you think Chamber first, consider the friendly, fun atmosphere of the Village, in the heart of Carlsbad. Your friends and family will love the dining, shopping and plentiful services that are right here just steps from the beach.

The Carlsbad Village Association is a non-profit organization whose core purpose is to lead the continual improvement of Carlsbad Village, making it the premier gathering place in North County San Diego. All meeting and event information can be found at carlsbad-village.com.
