PICTURE IT: A Carlsbad ocean breeze on a July afternoon. The waves shimmer, the air smells like salt and sunscreen, and the last thing anyone wants is to haul a carload of gear across hot sand. That’s exactly the problem Carlsbad Chamber member Beach Genie was born to solve. This summer, they’ve made it even better by partnering with fellow Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce members to create a full-service beach experience worth trying.
“We want families to enjoy the beach without screens and create lifelong memories,” shares Jean Walker, Founder, Beach Genie.
Beach Genie is the driving force behind this elevated coastal experience. Born during the pandemic, the company started as a family idea rooted in two simple truths: beach days are beautiful, but they’re not always easy and people needed safe, joyful ways to gather outdoors. What emerged was a full-service beach concierge offering everything from chairs and umbrellas to thoughtfully styled setups right on the sand.
There was also a deeper mission from the start. The founders brought their teenage sons into the business, teaching them hard work, time management, and customer service lessons they could carry into adulthood.
This summer, Beach Genie has expanded across North County, including new beach access points such as Ponto, with a major focus on its signature beach bonfires that turns sunset into the main event.
“This is THE summer for people to try this” the team shared. What makes the experience even more special is how it comes together through local collaboration. Beach Genie partners with fellow Chamber members to complete the experience in a way that stays hyper local and feels seamless.
Bits & Bites Graze Boards elevates the setup with beautifully curated graze boards featuring artisan cheeses, fresh fruit, and seasonal accompaniments designed to be as photogenic as they are delicious.
“Our goal is to create something that feels special and shareable,” said Ilona Rennert, Founder of Bits & Bites Graze Boards. “Collaborating with Beach Genie felt like a natural fit. We both value quality, creativity, and supporting local.”
Leucadia Pizzeria brings the crowd-pleasing comfort of a true local institution to the experience. They’ve become a natural fit for beach gatherings where good food and good company go hand in hand.
Señor Grubby’s, a beloved Carlsbad staple, adds another layer of local flavor, rounding out a true “taste of Carlsbad” on the beach.
At sunset, Beach Genie’s bonfires take center stage. As North County’s only professional beach bonfire provider, they’ve become a go-to for weddings, bachelorette parties, corporate outings, and meaningful community gatherings, including the unforgettable Sage Creek High School bonfire tradition in 2021.
This is community collaboration at its best. When Chamber members come together to drive revenue and create memories, they prove that local businesses win bigger when they build together.
